Hello Lovelies,

So I have come to the realization that I am addicted to beauty products and samples. I am currently subscribed to 2 beauty boxes, Ipsy and Birchbox, and even though I don’t like several of the products I get, I just keep letting them fill up my bathroom drawers because I keep thinking I will change my mind and like them. Sometimes I even go on makeup shopping sprees and buy products I already have for “just incase.” Since I currently have 2 whole drawers full of products, I thought I would weed some out and do a giveaway! Below are the products one lucky person will win!!

Beauty Protector Leave in Conditioner Review

Tags

Hello Lovelies,

I hope your weekend was as relaxing as mine! It’s finally starting to warm up a little outside and it makes me so happy! So happy, I’ve decided to do another review!! 🙂

The last Birchbox I received came with a couple products that I have decided I can’t live without! One is a perfume called HELLO by Harvey Prince and the other is a leave in conditioner exclusive to Birchbox called “Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle.” This isn’t your normal everyday leave in conditioner, it’s heaven in a bottle!

I have really dry, frizzy hair and in order for me to be able to comb through it, I have to use some sort of conditioning spray. I have tried so many and have yet to find one that I can be happy with buying again. It seems as though all of the ones out there just don’t have enough conditioning to them…well that was until I received the Beauty Protector in my Birchbox. It not only smells amazing…I mean AMAZING…but it does so many other things!

Now I’m not saying this product works miracles and completely detangles hair, but it is 10X’s better than any other conditioning spray I have used. It’s thick and not watery but doesn’t leave my hair greasy…and I apply a lot to my hair. It even helps my second day hair smell fresh even though I don’t use it the second day! It is a bit pricey compared to others I have used but this cheap girl (meaning myself) thinks it’s worth the $22, so it has to be good!!! 🙂

Have you tried this product before? What do you think about it? Do you know of another kind that is better?

Anyone want to do a Beauty Box Swap????

Tags

, , , , ,

Hello Lovelies,

A little while back, I signed up for a Beauty Box swap with Etta and really enjoyed the experience.

I liked it so much that I wanted to host one myself. 🙂

The rules of the game:

1. Anyone interested in playing along, please email your name and state/country to me at awells0117@gmail.com

2. I will allow signups until April 5th and will assign everyone a partner on April 7th. I will then notify everyone who their partners are and their email address so you can contact each other after that.

3. Everyone will need to gather items to send their partner and mail their package by April18th. The package will need to include at least 5 products, and at least 1 needs to be full size. You can communicate with your partner to get ideas of what they like/don’t like and allergies (For instance, they may love eye shadow but hate lipsticks or allergic to berries)

4. The minimum amount you have to spend for your package is $20 but feel free to spend more.

5. Please note, this box doesn’t only have to be makeup products. It can be hair products, lotions, perfumes, jewelry, etc. You can discuss this with your partner.

6. Please do not sign up for this swap if you think you may not be able to send a box on the assigned date. If you sign up, I trust that you will follow through. I am not liable for unsent boxes.

7. If I have people from outside the US sign up, that will be awesome. I know shipping may be a little tricky so if you are from outside the US and another person from your country signs up, I will try my best to assign people within their area. If you have an issue and do not want to send outside of your country, please note in the email you send me so I can try and work around it.

8. HAVE FUN!!! THIS WILL BE EXCITING!

Life on the Mini Pig Farm!

Tags

Hello Lovelies,

Life has been CRAZY for me the past week! One thing you may or may not know about me is that my fiance and I breed mini pigs. We have had a few litters already and everything has been great…until this last set. Cami, my mini pig that stays inside with me was in heat so we bred her with a male that we have. Everything has been completely great until she had her babies. For some reason, she is scared to death of them and tries to attack them whenever they come near her. In order for them to nurse, I have to hold her down, all while she is screaming and kicking. She eventually calms down and is fine, but it seems like it takes forever for her to do that. A week and several bruises later, we have the babies trained to eat out of a “hamster” bottle. Until this past Saturday, I was having to get up 2 times during the night, as well as come home during my lunch break to restrain Cami in order for the babies to nurse….not to mention the times when I was already at home and had to restrain her. Talk about STRESSFUL and exhausting! Now we just let the babies run around in a large hamster cage and they can eat out of the bottles any time they want! They are so cute and growing like weeds. IMG_3102

IMG_3091

Please note, this is not the “hamster” cage we keep them in. This is just a lunch box we would carry them in when taking them to Cami to nurse! They don’t stay in here!

Here is my baby Cami. 🙂 She is the smartest pig I know!

Sorry about the messy room!!! haha

IMG_4249

She likes to cuddle and take the sheets off my bed! 🙂

So what do you think about my babies? Do any of you have a mini pig as a pet??

I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award! :)

Tags

Hello Lovelies,

Is it me, or have I been slacking lately?? I don’t know what the deal is but I just can’t get motivated to do anything right now. I guess it’s seasonal depression…yes, that is a real thing! All this yucky weather has me lazy!

Well I pulled up blogger friend of mine, Kimberly at SociallyAwkwardFashionista, and was reading through all the posts from her that I had missed, and just realized she nominated me for the Liebster award! Whooppppiiiieee! 🙂 You can check out that blog here. I like reading through her stuff because it’s always something different and I think I am socially awkward myself so it’s nice to know there are others out there!

To be honest, I don’t really even know what this award means. I think it’s suppose to help increase the views on your blog, but I’m not positive. Being nominated to me means that someone finds my blog interesting and wants to share it with others…so therefore…I totally accept this challenge.

So here are the Rules of the game:

You must link back to the person who nominated you.
You must answer the questions given to you.
You must pick 11 nominees to answer 11 questions you choose for them.
You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
You must tell the nominees that they have been nominated by you.

So let’s answer the questions the Kimberly has asked:
  1. Describe yourself in one word: Random
  2. Dog, Cat or Platypus? Dogs, mini pigs, and lamb!! Take that!!!
  3. If you could only have one in your life would it be make-up or fashion? Well, I’m not confidant enough to go without makeup so I would choose make-up. When I was in high school, guys didn’t like me until I wore makeup in 12th grade. It’s not that I care whether guys like me or not, but I at least feel more confident when I’m wearing eye makeup!
  4. Purse or Shoes? Why? Shoes…I love shoes. I have so many that I never even get to wear half of them! And I hate carrying purses.
  5. What do you like to do during your free time? Be lazy or do something outside if it’s nice and is the perfect temperature.
  6. What’s your current skincare routine? Apricot scrub followed my Neutrogena Oil free cleanser…then a moisturizer
  7. Favorite Brand? Depends on the item.
  8. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?…press the snooze! ha
  9. What’s your favorite trend? anything shabby chic!
  10. What’s the craziest Haircut/Haircolor you’ve ever had? When I was little, my hair was cut like a little boy…and people even thought I was one!!!! 😦
  11. If you could have one night with any Celebrity (get your mind out of the gutter!) who would it be? Channing Tatummmm mmm good. haha

Who I nominate for this award:

Nail Rock Nail Velvet Review

Tags

Hello Lovelies!

I’m on a roll today, as you can tell! I don’t have internet at home so I can’t really do blog posts on the weekend, unless I do it on my phone, so I am loading up today! haha

I received the Nail Rock Nail Velvet in my birchbox last month and just recently got to try it out. I was pretty skeptical to use it to begin with because I thought it wouldn’t work or would be too thick on my nail, but finally gave it a shot.

Image Image

As I thought, the product didn’t work that well. Maybe I didn’t do it right, but I followed the instructions on the box and did what I was suppose to….or at least I think I did! I painted 2 coats on my nail, and then stuck my nail in the little pot of “velvet.” Below is a picture of how my test trail turned out.

Image

As you can tell in the picture, the velvet didn’t really stick to my nail. Well, it stuck to my nail, but didn’t stick to the whole thing. When I stuck my wet nail into the velvet pot, it actually took some of the paint off, instead of the velvet sticking to my nail…Maybe I should try it again?? Practice makes perfect!…But it shouldn’t be that hard to begin with!

Have you tried Nail Rock before? What did you think about it?

Makeup Junkies Makeup Swap Results

Hello Lovelies!

I hope your weekend was a good as mine. 🙂

About a month ago, on Etta’s Threads, I signed up for a makeup swap. After about a week or so, Etta joined me with my “makeup penpal,” Kimberly, who’s blog is SociallyAwkwardFashionista. We emailed each other and got to know one another a little better, and then I went on a search to find the perfect stuff! Little did I know how hard it would be. Well, it’s wasn’t necessarily hard, I just wanted to find the perfect things. According to Kimberly, it was the same way! 🙂

I got my package in the mail the other day, and below is what I got! I loved everything so much! She even included a bag of jewelry pieces since she knows I like crafty stuff! How awesome is that!?!

Now Kimberly really outdone herself, as you can tell! Are you jealous?? I’ve already been using several of the products I received too!!

Have you ever done a makeup swap like this? Did you like it as much as I did??

Loreal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Review

Tags

Hello Lovelies,

Do you ever do the “free stuff” drawings that Allure magazine does on her website? Well I did, and to my surprise, I received a box in the mail the other day with Loreal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother in it. Supposedly I won back in August of last year and I didn’t even know it!! How exciting is that??

Image

ImageImage

I’ve won a couple other times from Allure, but they always send me an email ahead of time letting me know I won and when to expect my package. This one was almost like Christmas!! Whoopie!

I tried the product out this morning, and if you have ever used Smashbox Photofinish face primer, it’s practically the same thing…but a different smell and cheaper.

They both feel like a wax over your face. So oddly smooth. I don’t think it made me look any younger and it definitely didn’t give me any “lift.” It’s just a face primer. It fills in pores and creases some before you put on foundation, so it’s not the foundation filling in the cracks. It did, however, help my makeup stay on longer. At least that’s my opinion.

I feel like I can get the same effects with a cheaper primer such as the E.L.F. or Rimmel brands. I’ve tried both of those and they work well too. I would just go for those instead of spending 25$+.

Have you tried any of these primers? What did you think??

Looking for a used wedding dress! HELP ME!

Tags

, , , ,

Hello Lovelies,

I have been looking for a wedding dress and have had no luck finding one that is decently priced. I must have expensive taste! Anyway, I am now turning to used dresses. I normally wear about a size 4 in dresses maybe a little bigger. I like the princess cut at the bust and maybe a little puffy at the bottom but not necessarily. Preferably strapless and a fitted waste.  Are any of you selling one or know someone that is?

Let me know!!

Thanks!

Covergirl Bombshell Volume Mascara by Lashblast Review

Tags

, , , , , , ,

Hello Lovelies!

So I have been looking for a good volumizing mascara for a while now. I’ve tried so many it’s really ridiculous. I have really stubby, short lashes and have been thinking there is no hope to give them the WOW factor. A new mascara was released recently from Covergirl called Bombshell Volume but it’s been too expensive for me to splurge for. Yesterday I found it on sale for $9.99 (normally $1.99) so I bought it. Now I know it wasn’t that big of a savings but I let that be my excuse to try it! I chose color 805 black.

Image

So as you can tell, this is a dual ended mascara. The #1 side is like the normal thick plastic heads that have been really popular in the mascara world today and it is for adding volume. You can put several coats of this one on. The #2 side is suppose to intensify and seal in the volume with just one coat.

Image

I tried the mascara out this morning. I was really hoping for something spectacular but with the short stubby lashes that I have, I didn’t really feel it was possible. I put on 2 coats of the #1 side and 1 coat of the #2 side and below were my results. I think the mascara did a pretty good job but I feel as if Covergirl has several mascaras out there like this one. It reminds me a lot of the regular LashBlast by Covergirl. It seems like they just introduced Bombshell to have another expensive drugstore mascara.

Image

And here is a voluminous face for volumizing mascara! hahahah

Have you tried this new mascara?

What did you think?
